Purpose and Description
The quiz lesson type provides a way for students to review and remember facts, figures and points learned. This lesson type helps in reinstating the concepts learned in the subject.
How it works: Play mode
On "My Lessons" page search for the lesson that you want to create. Use the filters to the right to streamline your search. Once you find the desired lesson, touch the "Play" icon located on the middle of the lesson to open it.
After opening the lesson, a row of cards with answers is displayed below the question. In this lesson, the students pick the right answer to the question by clicking on it. The card gets flipped over, revealing a check mark if correct or an x if incorrect. The button located in the top left corner of the preview screen can be toggled so students can see if their responses are correctly placed. Each card can display images, text, text + images, and can also include audio. Cards with audio are activated when the card is flipped.
The cards can also be flipped using keyboard shortcuts. The keyboard shortcuts start at 1 for the left most card, going through all the numbers and eventually the alphabet if there are more than 10 cards. You can view the keyboard shortcut belonging to each card by pressing the space bar.
How to Build
The Manage Content Screen opens upon selecting the lesson type, where content for the lesson can be set. Below is an example from a previously created lesson.
Type in the title of the lesson in the textbox located at the top left-hand side of the screen.
Tap the "CREATE QUESTION" button to add each question needed for the lesson. Type in the answer for the question within the question bar. To add more answers tap on the "CREATE ANSWER". Within each content bar, Items can be set to display as text-only, image only, or text + image, and include audio, for this lesson type.
The handles located on the right side of each text/content bar let you move them into the order you choose. Select the circle icon to the left of each bar to delete the item.
Use the Background button located beneath the left text box to import images, and the Sound button to import audio, if needed. Selecting these buttons will activate a file browser.
From this browser, you can select images from your computer, or enter a search term and select images from the Internet. If an object has sound added, it will play when the card is placed to the correct location.
Use the hamburger menu button on the top left corner to navigate through the lessons cloud app.
You can either look up the help docs, choose a different lesson type and open up the "MY LESSONS" page from this drop down.
The cutomize content page lets you set the right answer for each question.
All the answers to the question are available on the dropdown. Choose the right answer to the question from the dropdown by clicking on it.
The Preview Screen, located in the top right of the interface will display items as you work. After you complete making the lesson, the Preview screen provides a way to play the lesson and check if any changes are needed.
The button located in the top left hand corner of the screen, if toggled, will display the cards that bear the right and wrong answers, via small indicator on the card.
Use the previous and next buttons to move to the last question and next to move to the next question.
In the Text section, located beneath the Preview Screen, you can select the font, font size, font color, and font shadow.
In the Background section you can choose a background for your lesson. Under Theme you can choose a Snowflake MultiTeach® theme from a drop-down menu. Under Background you can use the green button to open a file browser and select an image from your hard drive or the internet.
In the Gameplay section, you can make the objects ordered or randomized by choosing the corresponding options. Ordered is the default option. You can activate and set a timer as well.
To interact with the lesson in full-screen mode, press Play.
